I bought this Dodge Lindy ('79) motorhome about five years ago with the intention of taking it to Burning Man...

Well, it never happened. So, we've used it exactly once, to go up to a State park about 4 hours north of San Francisco -- that was a few years ago; it ran like a charm. It's sat in the driveway since and it's become entirely obvious that we aren't ever going to use it.

Which is a bummer because it's really a nice vehicle.

The guy I bought it from had completely redone the interior, and he was a super craftsman. It's clean and comfortable inside. He used superior materials and did a fine job.

It got 9 miles to the gallon when we took it up north. The battery was new then and I put a new marine battery inside. The previous owner had rebuilt the transmission and done a variety of other, lesser work. I put new gray and black water tanks in, a new toilet, had the carb reconditioned, and recaulked the top and sides to totally waterproof it. Since I took these pictures some more rust has materialized on the hood, and here are three pictures taken on 12 Nov 08 of the front and front sides of the vehicle:

The horn and the refrigerator don't work. Everything else, like the stove, the heater, etc., etc., all worked when I had it up and running a couple of years ago. It's got air conditioning. No generator.

It's got a large V-8 enginge -- I think it's a 360. It's got 66,288 miles on it. I had it smogged a couple of years ago and it flew through the test. However, the gas in it is now old and when you burn old gas you have too many hydrocarbons. I'm not willing to syphon the gas tank and put fresh gas in it and get it smogged. I'm "over it." It is registered. I have the smog documents with all the numbers which show how easily it passed the test.

The interior's cozy and pleasing to look at. Frankly, this vehicle would make an excellent home for someone who wants to park it and live in it.

Double sink, four-burner gas stove and oven. There's a microwave, too.

This vehicle has voluminous cabinet space -- these on both sides above the living space.
