A highly accomplished painter, possibly Spanish or French, created this striking portrait with porcelain-like features. Lined with biva, some restoration in the hat. Measurements: 26 by 21 1/2 inches; with frame, 33 x 28 1/2.

(29) "Winter Landscape," by Svend Svendsen (American, 1864-1934); oil on canvas, signed lower right. Svendsen, a Norwegian who settled in Chicago, painted winter landscapes in particular; his work is represented in the Toledo, Ohio, museum. In its original frame, this work is in excellent original condition. Measurements: 18 by 24 inches; with frame, 26 x 31.
